Farewell to Allen Setter
(September 6, 1918-March 25, 2005)

Allen registered with the Oshawa Wado-Kai Karate in September 23, 1984. He was a gentle and kind person, always concern about others. When he came to enroll at the age of 66, he was already a brown belt in Judo and an enthusiastic student of the guitar. In November 29, 1986 he achieved his Brown Belt in Wado-Kai Karate and for years, he was not only a great student but a wonderful assistant instructor volunteering to help where help was needed. He helped teaching at Durham College, the YWCA in Oshawa and in the fall of 1999, when the Brooklin Wado-Kai club opened and Allen, now in his 82nd year, he decided to come out and practice. Allen stayed with it for many months but realized that his age was catching up to him and it was time to hang up his belt.

If we could all grow up with the grace and kindness that Allen did, we would all be living in a wonderful world.

Allen Setter passed away on Friday, March 25, 2005 in his 87th year. We will miss you very much !!!
