Sensei Borda began his training in 1974 at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute under Sensei Dave Manara and has received his 5th dan in Karate (1994) and his 5th dan in Shindo (1996) both from Sensei Manara. He has been an instructor at the Ryerson Karate Club since 1984. He established Mississauga Wado Kai in 1990 with the formation of the Erindale Karate Club and has added to Mississauga Wado-Kai with the Etobicoke Olympium Karate Club in 1993.
Sensei Borda is presently a Director of Toronto Wado Kai. He is a recipient of the 1991 Toronto Wado Kai Appreciation Award, and the 1994 Shintani Karate Award. He is also studying Yoshinkai Aikido and Kobudo.
Sensei Borda also has a Bachelor of Technology degree and a Master of Applied Science degree, both in Mechanical Engineering.
