Terry Hill, 4th Dan
Terry Hill Hi, my name is Terry Hill, I was born and raised in the Simcoe area. I have been married to Marsha for seven years and we have two wonderful boys Trey and Storm.
I first became involved with Martial Arts in 1972 with Sensei Shintani in Pt. Dover, Ontario. He was my instructor twice a week until 1979 when he moved his headquarters to Hamilton and started his Federation. In the 70’s the training was harsher and more demanding but it was quite an advantage to be influenced by his training and philosophies. I received Black Belt in February 1975 and have been an instructor with the Simcoe South Club since then teaching the Wado way.
I also enjoy other sports such as swimming, skiing, motorcycling and my other passion skydiving. I have over 2000 jumps, a tandem licence and I am an AFF instructor.
Today it’s such a joy to see the exchange of ideas and teaching techniques between different Martial Arts through magazines, books, videos and seminars. This seems to help the students grow and better understand their Art.
Sensei Shintani has spent much of his life spreading the teaching, humbleness and virtues of Sensei Ohtsuka. It’s now up to us, his students, to continue these ideals and spread goodwill along the road of life.
